House Judiciary Committee hearing: Dan Arment opening statement

Cole, the face mask system for the Riddell 360 has been designed from the ground up and is entirely unique. The flexing capabilities it provides require certain structural components. At Riddell we are working to provide more face mask styles for the Riddell 360 but for right now the only ones available are what you see on our website. I’m an engineer and have always wondered if a “cushioned outer shell (foam)” would change the helmet-to-helmet impact from an inelastic to a more elastic energy transfer mechanism, thereby significantly reducing the G forces imparted to both individuals in that kind of collision.
