DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
The design and development of the Revolution was a four-year project. Using the NFL and Biokenetics’ research as the backbone for development, the Riddell Revolution® features three key design elements focused on the intent of reducing the occurrence of MTBI, including:
- Side and Facial Protection – a majority of head trauma is caused by blows to the side of the head, face or mandible areas. Riddell designed the Revolution face-pad to disperse the force of impact in these areas for concussion protection.
- Increased Shell Offset – the distance from the helmet shell to the wearer’s head gives the Revolution room to manage the types of impacts that cause concussion without compromising its response at higher impact levels.
- Tru-Curve Shell Shape – not only does The Revolution’s shell extend into the mandible area, it has been computer designed around the head’s anatomical center of gravity.
HELMET WARNING
NO HELMET CAN PREVENT SERIOUS HEAD OR NECK INJURIES A PLAYER MIGHT RECEIVE WHILE PARTICIPATING IN FOOTBALL. Do not use this helmet to butt, ram or spear an opposing player. This is in violation of the football rules and such use can result in severe head or neck injuries, paralysis or death to you and possible injury to your opponent.
Contact in football may result in CONCUSSION-BRAIN INJURY which no helmet can prevent. Symptoms include: loss of consciousness or memory, dizziness, headache, nausea or confusion. If you have symptoms, immediately stop playing and report them to your coach, trainer and parents. Do not return to a game or practice until all symptoms are gone and you have received medical clearance. Ignoring this warning may lead to another and more serious or fatal brain injury.
